I was comparing shipping charges for 300 rounds of 308 ammo.
From you to PA its $21 and change. From another vendor in Florida to PA is only $11. Is there a way to save on shipping when ordering from you guys? |

Or they are putting part of the shipping cost into the pricing of the product. Quoted:

I'd be willing to bet the company is eating some of the shipping cost if it's $11 Or they are putting part of the shipping cost into the pricing of the product. That was my thought as well.... |

They selling box 4 cents more than aim but shipping is full $5 more at aim for .308
Differense is even more for 223 caliber. 1000 rounds are $25 shipped at aim but only 19$ there. And if you lower quantity to 200 rounds aim charges 17.5 while overthere it's only 7. I figured OH to PA must be cheaper than FLA to PA. |

No one is talking to you. And yet he is not wrong...Bryan gave a sufficient answer. You don't know what either vendor paid for their ammo or what any of their expenses are for that matter but those come into play on pricing as well. Aim doesn't up charge for shipping so you got your answer. The vast majority of the time aim has better deals and better service for that matter. They will not have the lower price on every item every time, it just is not possible. That all being said it's up to each individual to decide if on the occasion aim does not have the best deal if they want to buy from them anyway to support them knowing aim always gives their best prices and provides top level of service or go elsewhere. |

But I am not questioning prices.
I am wondering why this UPS plug-in charges me more at AIM? I am not accusing anyone of anything but rather trying to understand. It's obvious that either this plug in set wrong or there is a way to give a better shipping pricing. As I said aim ships 10 boxes from OH to PA for almost $18. Another company ships same 10 boxes from FLA to PA for $7. It's hard not to notice.. You know what forget it. Problem is obvious while answer I hear is "it is what it is". Like arguing about earth is not flat with inquisition. |

UPS.com says a 32lb package (which is what 1k rounds of .223 weighs) will cost $27.98 to ship from our location to Philadelphia (first PA city that came to mind). That same package will cost $32.73 to ship from Miami (first FL city that came to mind) to Philadelphia. How can the other company do it? My guess is they're making up for it somewhere else. Maybe not on your transaction, but they're making up for it. |

Thanks Stephen. I talked to you on a phone few times past couple of months and you are always providing top notch customer support. I did not started this conversation to question aim integrity. It was pointed out to me and I checked and indeed it was the case so I got curios. That is all.

Side Note: It cost me $18 UPS to ship a dozen Tastycakes(about 2lb) to my daughter in SD.

whats a tasty cake, I am intrigued? Very typical PA snacks/pastries. My Grandmother was from Philly so I remember getting them as occasional treats when we visited. Then they came to OH...mmm... They sell them at the Middletown Kroger. Get the Butterscotch Krimpet it's the typical TastyCake. They're by the Hostess stuff near the breads. |

One of the things I gave up by moving away from Philly, but they can still be found if you look hard enough. My uncle owned a cheesesteak chain in Cali and people would offer to pay 5x to buy full cases! |

So basically they are a rip-off of Hostess? Per Wikipedia, Tastykake was founded in 1914, Hostess in 1930. I wonder who made the "Twinkie" first.... Per Wikipedia, 1930. Tastykake's Butterscotch Krimpets debuted in 1927. |

Well something is not right.
AIM wants $66.00 to ship two tins of 7.62x54R to my location. I can buy the same two tins at the same price from three other sources with shipping their costs running between $17.00 to $24.00. The distances of all sources are comparable. I buy firearms from AIM, but not their ammo. Shipping way to high. |

Does that UPS link reflect the buyer shipping as an individual via UPS? If so it does not reflect the volume shipping discount that a company may receive. Our business receives a volume shipping discount. This discount is lower than if I checked into the shippers web site and wished to ship something as an private individual. I would suspect the lower ammo shipping rates from other vendors maybe their volume shipping discount. |

UPS spat out $85+. Apparently we were gonna charge $66, so yes, the savings we get we do pass along. |

They're most likely making up the money elsewhere, either by inflating the ammo costs (yes, it's possible they got it from a different importer at a different cost) or they're over-charging someone buying a lighter item or someone who lives closer. In any case, we're up-front with our shipping charges and have been for the 5 years I've been here. I mentioned above that if you wanted to ship the same package yourself it would almost $20 more. That's straight from UPS.com. You shopping elsewhere to save a few bucks is a product of capitalism. |

This is no way a AIM bashing.
But me living in washington state and after a few deals popped up months ago for ammo i came here loaded up my cart and see the $40-$60 for shipping on a case of ammo..sorry not a good deal by far now, i have shipped cases of 556 from wa to florida for less then $40 with no account.. thats all, other then that aim is cool in my book... |

You can get a nice chunk off the base quote pricing on UPS.com. They offer 10-30+% off for business and other accounts. If you guys are paying the standard UPS rate, you need to make a call and save some money We do get a discount, that's why we can charge $66 to ship 54R to OR instead of the $85 retail price. |

I get a stupid good Air rate, but that doesn't help ship ammo. |
