I just sold my M44 I bought from aim last year for $500 Say what? Yep! Im not BS'ing either. Put the thing on armslist last week and sold it in less than 24hrs. The guy wanted one really bad! I already have a m44 from almost every country, and I plan on using the left over money for a M38 to complete my collection |

| Hey Bryan I saw you advertised the m44s coming in again soon in the email blast today, so I wanted to make sure the m38s are in the pipeline. I'd like to hold out for one of those, but if they aren't in the works any longer ill pick up one of these for sure. Thanks |
| To answer Bub0214 about accuracy in the M44 vs. M38. I've owned several of both (along with some 91/30's). Generally the M38's will outshoot the M44's. I have always thought the bayonet attachment point effects the harmonics of the barrel and it just has to effect the accuracy of the rifle. I know there has been a debate if you're suppose to shoot the M44 with bayonet extended/retracted. I don't know what the final verdict is or if there even is one on that whole debate, but I can tell you that extending the bayonet on the M44 definitely does move the Point of Impact for the bullets and in my experience, extending the bayonet also opens up my groups. Ammo plays a HUGE factor in group size also. They are extremely finicky about different surplus & commercial ammo. I've shot brown bear in my m44 that would be all over a political sign at 30 yards (I'm taking feet apart), but it shot one hell of a fireball. If you do your reading, the Czech Silver tip (aqua box with metallic silver stripe diagonally on the side) is the the best of the best inexpensive surplus ammo for most 54r guns (not counting the 7n1 loads). Order several different types and once you see what it likes, order several tins now because 54r is one of the last large caliber surplus that is still available at a decent price. All that to say, buy an M44 because the bayonet is cool and the M38 because it's shorter than the 91-30's and they are also cool. On the M44, you can always remove the bayonet if you want to really get the most out of it, but it will change the POI when you put it back on. Happy Shooting. The Mosin Nagant is the best Poor Mans gun to collect, and they are a hoot to shoot also. Enjoy. Post some pics when you get them. One last thing, always ask before you buy one, if the receiver and bolt match (or if they are a forced match). One set of #'s will be XXXX'd out and a matching serial # stamped by it. I've always preferred a gun that was all matching, even if it's just mental. They seem to shoot more accurate. |
| If it were me, and I'm me, I'd get a M44 as soon as they come in. It sounds like the M38's are vapor ware as of right now. If/when they show up, sell your 44 and buy a 38. It would surely suck to miss out on the 44's only to find out the 38's are $300 or don't show up at all. This is the redundant department of redundancy. |
| (Disclaimer: this is in no way directed towards AIM or the poster above who tossed out a $ amount. i just wanted to throw this out there before this became a "i'd pay ... (insert overpriced amount) for ...). I hate to see speculative pricing on forums before items are priced from the distributors. There is always some overly eager person(s) out there with more $ than sense that start putting crazy values on guns that are yet to be priced. It may cause the person in charge of pricing them to raise their $. Lets let the seller put his price out there before we start the negotiations :). I will say, for almost 10 years I have looked around heavily at all of the more popular internet C&R distributors. AIM has consistently brought the best quality surplus C&R firearms to the end user for the best price. With AiM, you almost always get what your expecting. With some of the other distributors (even the ones with good reputations), you repeatedly hear stories of buyers getting polished up turds with sewer pipes for barrels. It sounds like the M38's are a big IF. Lets just wait and see if they are gonna happen before we worry about the price. |
| Just be patient. Y'all speculate way too much and need to relax. I'm suprised they even update with the info we have. If I were aim I wouldn't say anything until they arrive. But they took the time to give us an eta, so chill and let them do their job instead of answering forum questions from impatient customers. |

When they gonna be here? Huh? Huh? Are they here yet? I have to use the bathroom! Are they here yet? Huh? Huh? When they gonna be here?" |
