Are these the ones that tend to be tighter than a frog's puckered butthole on the buffer tube?

This I believe was corrected with the retail release. The ones that are like that do not have the QD cup. They are the Gen 1 style.

A lot of people noted that on the initial run of them, the locking pin was too long and too wide.  Has it been correct now, so that the lever doesn't rattle around?

Saw this thread and decided to reply instead of start a new one.

I ordered one of the B5 SOPMOD stocks this past week, got here today via Bryan's free shipping offer!  I tried it on 3 separate lowers: an LMT, a Daniel Defense and an unknown tube on a Bushmaster lower that usually has a mil spec tube CTR.  Unsurprisingly, it fit perfectly on the LMT lower.  It was a touch tight on the DD and absolutely terrible on the BM.  Maybe the buffer tube on the BM isn't mil-spec but then CTR on the BM fits perfectly on the other 2 tubes.  It'll be going to the range this weekend on the LMT and I'll post impressions from use and from other shooters.

Bag is standard blue corrosion resistant shipping bag that most .mil folks will be familiar with

Has an almost NSN type packing tag

B5 System marked

Ambi metal sling swivel cup

Slightly tacky rubber butt pad

Front view with battery tubes removed

Battery tubes

Double washer cap

I didn't take pictures of the stock on the various tubes, but it looks like a SOPMOD stock on an M4.  I'm looking forward to putting it to work!

Bushmaster tubes are commercial sized, not Mil-Spec sized.

The Bushmaster lower was bought used and most of it's internals are aftermarket.  I don't know what spec the tube is and have been assuming it mil spec since I've put at least 4 different mil spec Magpul MOE and CTR stocks on it at different points during owning it.

Well, that is definitely Flat Dark Earth, and not like the Coyote that the LMT is.

They are also coming out with Multicam to suposedly.  I like the FDE, it will match my Magpul FDE gun nicely

I know.

It looks like there may be other colors at some point in time, as well.

This is my favorite stock.  I have 3 of them and 1 more on the way.  They all fit tight, but that's one of the things I like about them.  Once I get my length set, I rarely change it.

My B5 sopmod fits really tight on all receiver extensions I've tried it on.  Does anybody know if there is a difference in batches (or date codes) on these?

Is there any reason to pay more for the LMT version? They look like identical stocks.

What the story with these? Did a copyright expire?

Sorry for all the stupid questions. Just curious.

Got mine today, some edges are a little sharper than on the LMT stocks I have, but definitely doesnt justify paying an extra $100 for a LMT.  I will be buying these B5 stocks from here on out.

Ordered mine from AIM and it fit tight at first.  It would get stuck all the way closed and the pin had trouble and would have to be pushed in at times.  After a few days of just playing with it it loosened up and is perfect now.  I also had to punch out the retaining pin and tighten the nut on the bottom a half turn to eliminate the rattle from the latch, no big deal.  This is my favorite stock now and I see no reason to pay the extra $100 for it to say LMT.

AIM IS AWESOME!!
