| Looks like it's still being rolled out, as there's no pictures and a bunch of "submit query"s all over the place, but nifty to see an upgrade. |
|
Guys it is a work in progress, and we really appreciate everyone's patience and understanding. We are sorry if it inconveniences anyone.
It should be pretty solid by the weekend. Over the next few weeks we are going to be able to roll out some really neat features that I think will really improve your shopping experience. And some fun stuff! |

yea, i liked the old one too. when will it show the shipping? do you have to log in to calculate shipping or is that still being worked on? AIM is still the best! It should show shipping when you log in and your order is ready to ship... You don't have to log in to calculate shipping but, like before, you DO have to add items to your cart and at least START the checkout process. |
|
I like the new site. I do have a few suggestions though.
1) Move the Empty Cart button to a different location. Locating it between the Continue Shopping and Update Quantities buttons is gonna cause problems, trust me. 2) Once an item has been added to the cart, I would rather stay on the same page instead of being sent to the cart, since normally, I'm shopping for more than one item. As it is now, it just adds extra web pages I have to navigate to get back to where I was. |
|
We are working hard to get it where we need it. We really appreciate everyone's patience. If at anytime you are frustrated or upset with the ordering process please call me personally and I will do everything possible to get you going and feeling positive about your AIM experience. Please, keep the suggestions and feedback coming. We can handle constructive criticism, and think it is important. It is more important what you thinks about the new site, than what we think about it. Thanks again, Erik [email protected] 888-748-5252 |

Quoted: You are here:Home> Rifles > Surplus Long Guns Thumbnails are horribly blurry and way too small This. The old format that had 2 pics side by side was very nice IMO. ETA-In the ammo section I liked the list links for calibers vs. pictures. Since there are so many choices, pics make it seem too busy (and most look the same to begin with) |

shouldn't there be some sort of 'update info' on the 'edit my account' page? my zip is wrong and though it allows me to change it, i can't seem to permanently update the change. Yes coming soon. Email me your name and zip code change and I will fix it right away. [email protected] |

What if it had better pics, like the 5.45, 7.62x25, and 7.62x54R? |

What if it had better pics, like the 5.45, 7.62x25, and 7.62x54R? The more I look at it, the more I'm torn. I was a huge fan of the ammo listed down the side - it made it quick and easy to find what I was looking for. It's still in order (somewhat) so it kind of makes sense, but I don't know. I think it may work if ammo was separated via handgun/rifle/shotgun as it was previously. I think if it expanded down the side as a caliber list (as it did previously) along with sorting by images (as it does now) but split into categories, that would be win in my book. |

And most people I figure looking to buy ammo, know what caliber and aren't going by pics. |

Pictures on the rifle page are too small, their size makes those nice images you guys take not enticing enough lure wise/interest perking wise, if they were larger though to flaunt some of that cold steel/aluminum/wood beauty, well...
I would rather not have to squint up to see pictures to see what you guys get in new. |

I think if you have free shipping on an item, you need to say so on that page and not wait until checkout to find if it will ship free. I know I will buy more with free shipping. Just saying. Good work Erik. |

ETA-Hey, Im not bitchin, just thought you should know, there are a few glitches. It doesnt affect my opinion of yall. Im sure you will work it out. Still a loyal customer. |

If I said it's flawless I apologize as there are kinks that still need ironing. At the end of the order, it gives you the option to set a password that should allow you to log in later and check your status. If you don't set a new password I don't know if you're able to check your status later on. |

As a preemptive post (since I've seen/heard a few questions about it already), your order will say "PENDING VERIFICATION" until it is actually looked at by a human and verified that the order is A-OK (guns are getting shipped to FFL holders, we have an ID on file for ammo, Californians aren't ordering hi-caps, etc.) which for the most part will only happen during business hours. Right now your order's likely to pend for 1-2 days before it's looked at (which is about how long it was taking before the switch happened).
I'll echo Erik's thanks and appreciation for your patience. |

I like the new site (got another AFG coming now..) and also like all the pictures (including ammo) that you can put on there. Think it you pull the ammo pics, some will complain about what they end up with. Just my 2 cents. I would leave the pics, if nothing else as a CYA for customer service.
Thanks again for a all the communcations with customers. Great company! |

Hey, no apologies needed. I'm just trying to give you guys some feedback. I actually did set up a new account with password. Not sure what happened. But I will tell you this. As soon as I put in the CC info to pay, the screen went to white, except for the logo at the top of page. I was waiting for a "order complete" or something, but it never came. I went to another webpage, waited for 5 minutes, came back still had the white screen. I opened a new window, checked my email, and had a confirmation of order. So the whole thing was kinda weird. Also, I had an account with you guys, and had to sign up as a new customer. But, like I said, no problems with AIM at all. Ive bought plenty in the past, and recommend your site first to anyone looking for ammo or iinternet gun sales. Im sure the site upgrades will be great. |

Yeah, I'm not too sure how the password reset is working. For the most part, nobody has a password. I believe the way it's working now is that you still have to sign up initially (even if you've ordered from us before). What we're doing on our end is looking at the order, seeing if you already have an account with us, and moving ID information over from your "old" account to the "new" account (the one you created your first order on the new site). At the end of the order you can set your new password and you should be good from then on. You do not need to create an account with us beforehand (in fact it's probably best if you don't). Hope this helps, everyone. |
