I bought a DBAL-I2 in November from TNVC (thanks Vic for all of the help and answering a million questions. ( If you are thinking about buying NV gear, get it from Vic) and have been impressed with it but am now thinking I may sell the DBAL and pick up an ATPIAL-C instead. The biggest advantages I see are:
1.) Built in laser illuminator 2.) Sits slightly lower to the bore 3. Can be used with multi-button Surefire pressure tapes I am running a Surefire Vampire in a QD mount that I can move from my helmet rail to my SIG 516 but wondering if just having the additional illuminator already on my rifle might be better. Thoughts? (And I will admit, the ATPIAL is new...so I want one!) I am using this for nighttime varmint hunting, some nighttime target/tactical shooting, and of course, to dispatch civil rioters when the SHTF!

We are going to test the ATPIAL-C, ATPIAL full powered, DBAL I2, CQBL-1 with Unity Tac M300V Ir illum, head to head in very dark conditions at known ranges.
