Voltage is probably too low, but thanks for posting this.  That is exactly what I need for an E2 standard.  

I guess the question is, at what voltage does it drop out of regulation?  If it goes out of reg quickly as it drops below 1.5, you won't get bright light very long.

OP, have you thought about using the Lumens Factory LV head and drop in for the E1? They offer a 3 mode unit in both Cool White and Warm White.

ooooh, that one's cheaper!  Thanks!  I have been to that site, but couldn't find what I needed.  Do you know which head fits a Surefire 6P?

Lumens Factory Speak:





D26 = C/G/P/Z series





They use the R2 and R5 Cree LED's so there are less "floody" than say the MC-E, or newer XM-L.





Their Warm White is quite Warm.
