I had a used STAR-M that I sold. Almost one month later, the guy says he " took it to a gunsmith for a compatibility check and the gunsmith found dings on the inside and advised him not to use it." I admit that the rail was used, but I think I would have noticed this "damage". Furthermore, this rail was on my rifle for about a year and neither the rail nor my rifle suffered abuse or adverse effects. Attached are images of the "damage", and I'd like to know if this would really cause any legitimate problems or is this guy trying to pull my leg.

The dings in that relief cut are from the teeth on the barrel nut. It was at one time mounted just a little out of alignment however probably aligned properly when it was tightened. There is no reason at all that it can not be used. Give me a call here at the shop for further info. 603-355-3903

| Andrew, thanks for the reply. I also sent an email this morning to the [email protected] address regarding this same thing. Good to know that the rail is still usable; I sure did enjoy it when I had it! |
