[ARCHIVED THREAD] - barrel nut torque question

I have my MI barrel nut torqued to 85#. It just wouldn't align any sooner. Is that going to be a problem? I contacted MI, and they said that they would send me another barrel nut, but I don't want to have them waste their time and money if it's not going to adversely affect the rifle to be a little over.

As long as it torqued up and you didn't damage your upper you should be good to go.
Try shooting it and see how the upper shoots, let me know if you have any questions.
