Pictured here is the DPMS low pattern handguard on a Smith & Wesson M&P10. This 12" handguard weighs in at 12.4 oz with the barrel nut. The 15" is 13.3oz. Each handguard comes with one five slot rail section. Like everything MI it is made in the USA and is backed by our lifetime warranty.
These will be shipping in two weeks.

I understand how the keymod system works; however, screwing a stud into the handguard is a lot simpler than bolting a keymod adapter to the handguard and then screwing the stud into that adapter. A direct mount for the stud also puts the bipod closer to the bore. A threaded hole on the bottom of the rail would be easy to add on my own, just want to know if it comes this way from the factory like their other rail. |

I had the same concerns and asked the same thing in this thread: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_121/636929_308_KeyMod_Handguards.html I was pretty set on the SS rail, until MI made this announcement for this new keymod rail. Essentially, what I was informed by another Arfer "SCW" is that the Noveske sling stud adapter made for Troy TRX rails fits nicely in a keymod slot!

I have been waiting for my 15" Gen II to come in for the past 4 months. Canada sux. They told me another 3 weeks. Why it takes so long to get it up here I have no idea. Now you say there is a KeyMod version? Any way a Canadian can get their hands on a 15" DPMS Low Keymod ASAP ? :) My M&P 10 is naked............. |

It's a 14.5" barrel with AAC Blackout Suppressor mount pinned and welded, with the 12" rail. I had my local barrel buy shorten the barrel for me and perm attach my mount.
If I could be so bold to make a suggestion to the engineers at MI… I would eliminate the first series of slots closest to the magazine well. The M&P10 barrel profile is very large and it it easy to get your finger on a hot barrel, if you weren't paying attention. Thx, 101 |
