So I picked up the m92 rail for my rifle and I was hoping to be able to use the ML2 upper hand guard.  This was my first MI rail and I didn't know they are setup.  It looks like I cannot move the hand guard retainer back a couple holes?  The way it is now there isn't enough room for optics between the mount and front sight post.  But since the M92 has the longer upper hand guard, if I could move it back it looks like there would be room.

Here's a pic of what I'm talking about.

I'm guessing that the holes for the screws are beveled and can't be moved?

yes that will be a problem with the yugo krink set up for the full size red dot.The holes in the hand guard are counter sunk and are not made to be moved into other locations. I n this case it looks like you will have to either run the railed cover and mount on top or use a mini dot .

I don't think there is enough material left to bevel.

Oh well, I'll order up the railed upper after the holidays and just run a low mount.  I really like the ML2 upper though, it will likely end up on a different AK.

It's just wrong for MI to tease us with a M92 lower but not turn out a few M92-length optic uppers for perfection!
