| I agree. I've got one rifle with a quad on it, and I call it the 'pine cone' because it is uncomfortable to hold it with your bare hand. The new CMMG handguard is just right. I think the rubber pads need to be a bit thicker but can live with them. I waited a long time for the new handguard and glad it's on my rifle now. |

Nice thing is they screw on and maybe we can get CMMG to make some that are a bit thicker and we can upgrade them. Meanwhile, for me, this is the best unit available for now. |

On the rubber panels we were going for the thinnest possible size. We are cutting a mold for some intermediate panels. These will be out later this year. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile Any information on how it interfaces with the barrel nut? (Is it proprietary?/Are special tools needed?) |

Liked the video. Once more you guys have out done yourself. What a great concept on the various grip possibilities. How do you guys come up with all the great ideas? Can't wait for these to come out so I can put some different grips on. I like parts that I can change and adapt.

Damn, that is *slick*
I have always hated how your choice is either 1. bulky rail covers so your hand doesn't burn 2. less bulky meat grinder rails or 3. aluminum tube to burn your hands on. Just looking at this it solves several setup problems I have had on my carbine, and it is free float to boot! Very nice design indeed, bravo sirs! |

My boss has one of these and loves it...

Anyone handled one and can compare the the Revolution? One thing I really liked about the Sampson was the ability to mount rails at 45 deg, like offset sights. It also covers up that finger burning gas block. |

CMMG. When will the barrel nut wrench be available? Dave N After deciding to go for Dueck Defense RTS sights (45 deg) I'm reconsidering this hand guard over the Simmons. I'd be replacing my CMMG Q4 Rails. What would it entail to install the Revolution in place of the Q4 Rail (I do have a Q4 Rail wrench)? |

These are being offered as a part, not just on new uppers, correct? If you go to the CMMG website and pick out an upper you want, notice that there is a "drop down" menu on "hand guards". The Revolution is one of the options you can pick as an upgrade. You can always call them and they will verify that. Hope that answers your question. |
|
No my question was if these were being sold as an individual part, and not only an optional part on new rifles and uppers.
Also curious how they install and if any wrench is needed and available with them for installation. I know I could call but the guys here on the forum are usually pretty helpful and informative, and I don't have to try to remember to make a phone call during business hours. |

This may sound ludicrous, but I'm wondering if there would be any issue on a CMMG piston upper of mounting this hand gaurd canted by 45 degrees?
I'd have to see how it feels but it seems like mounting the hand guard this way with iron sights on the top rail makes for a cost effective secondary sighting system for closer targets in 3-Gun. I can't tell if set at that angle, there is room for the piston. |
