Does anyone know if you're able to purchase the Forward Assist adapter from CMMG and add it to an existing Evolution bolt that didn't come with it?

I don't think so.  I seem to recall reading that the bolt has to be built for it.

I have a prototype with a separate forward assist. The rear plate needs to have a cut for the forward assist to
recoil all the way. It's not the best arrangement because the bolt isn't attached to the forward assist assy.
I'm not sure if it's offered or not now. You could get an answer by calling CMMG...
Good Luck,

You would need to get the notched rail and forward assist block.

ok, thanks, that's what I thought.  is forward assist even a benefit on a 22lr, aside from maintaining similar function to an AR15?  have any of you guys with an forward assist enabled bolt had to use it yet?

Yes, when the round count gets high and the works are gummed up. Forward Assist enables you to continue
for a while... Some of the rimfire tactical training courses require 500 to 1000 rounds, it gets tough...

It's also good for hunters needing to load quietly.
