I didn't get the instructions for my kit...
How do you break down the Evolution kit into it's individual parts for cleaning? How does the forward assist interface on the kit? |
|
You dont have to take it apart to clean it (In fact, CMMG does not recommend taking it apart for cleaning)... Just pull back on the bolt, clean it, and your good to go...
As far as how the forward assist interfaces on the kit... There is basically a polymer forward assist adapter that sits on the bolt... The normal forward assist then grabs onto that... |
| The brake cleaner works great. For the firing pin you can squirt it through the FP hole in the bolt face, then pushing the FP slightly forward, through the rear. Then use compressed air. Aerosol lube works good for the inside of the bolt. Eye protection is strongly recommended. |

Dissassembly can cause damage, it's more of a douching process and wiping with clean Q-Tips. Can be done with just lube or can be done with Non CFC Brake Cleaner, Q-Tips, then light lube.. Is there a proper, documented way to disassemble without causing damage though? It sure would be nice to just drop the bolt assembly into a pan of solvent while working at the barrel without having to insert a cleaning rod through the muzzle. |
