Picked up a CMMG .22 upper today at the gun show with two CMMG mags. So far everything looks great. The shop I bought it from assured me that they picked up the uppers just last week and they should be the latest iteration with the live round extraction and anti jam charging handle. After getting it home and taking a look at it I'm wondering if there is any way to see if it is indeed the newest iteration? Unfortunately, I won't be able to get out to the range at the earliest for a few weeks so I'd love to find out before if I did get the newest version.

The shop wasn't sure about the BHOA magazines, but they told me it should be them since they picked them up with the uppers about a week ago. Is there any ways to discern a difference between the normal CMMG magazines and the BHOA magazines?

Can't wait to get out to the range to try everything out.

Easiest way to check the live round extraction is to load some rounds and extract them.
The BHOA mags have black followers. None BHOA have green followers.

Be sure to take lots of ammo when you do go to the range.
You'll be sorry if you don't. And, be prepared to stay all day.

Well that's a bit of a bummer, I just noticed both mags that I bought have the green follower, so it looks like it didn't come with the followers.

I guess that's another thing to order. Does anyone know if they're running the stainless steel bolt upgrade still?

You also need the BHOA drop in for the bolt hold open to work. It's not a built in part, it's a drop in option.
Yes, the stainless bolts are an option.

The mags can be easily up graded with the BHOA followers and springs. You will need to file a 45 degree angle at the rear feed tower area. Instructions are in a thread here or in the rimfire forum.
But again, without the drop in BHOA, you will not have the bolt hold open.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear, I guess the question was, does anyone know if they're still allowing you to upgrade from the parkerized bolt to the stainless bolt?

If you are asking if you can trade it and up grade, you would have to contact CMMG. I don't have that answer.
