The CMMG gas piston unit has been going through extensive thrashing in an M16 with no failures at this time. Round count is up to 13,460 as of range day today. There has been only one problem, a broken extractor which has nothing to do with the unit itself. Have not found any upper receiver wear that would point to carrier tilt and no marks in the buffer tube. This has functioned flawlessly so for but needs a new barrel. Once rebarreled it will go through a thrash cycle again.
The Quad rail (YHM Lightweight Free Float) was modified to clear the piston.
The quad rail mod was a 3am hack job to make it work for range day

As soon as it is re-barreled we will wear out the next barrel and see if we can get it to fail. So far it has been ultra reliable.

Put a new barrel on the M16 and the rifle has been doing over time today.. The Piston has been working VERY well no issues with it today at all. Put another 2500 rounds through it without a hitch today.. More shooting tomorrow with lots of Full Auto....
