14.7 availability? > CMMG Inc

I know everyone is behind in orders and doing the best they can right now but I was wondering if anyone knew about the 14.7 carbines? I read the thread about the 20" uppers but someone had mentioned that the carbine orders seem to be filling out faster than the full length uppers? Anyone have info on this. I really want to put my order in for a upper and don't mind a short to moderate wait time.

Nobody knows? Also whats the difference between the 14.7 M4A1 Socom upper w/ permanent hider and the 14.7 M4 upper w/ permanent hider? The pics are the same and the description seems too be the same.

I think the SOCOM barrels have a thicker profile at the end of the barrel past the grenade launcher notch.

SOCOM barrels are much thicker under the HGs from the barrel nut all the way to the FSB.

That is right, the SOCOM is heavier under the handguards. We are working a few hundred 14.7 M4s right now, but they are all filling backorders.

I ordered a 14.7 in Dec 08, and got a notice about it going into production 4 weeks ago. I'm expecting it soon!

Would a purchase of a 14.7" take longer than 12-16 weeks to fill? Just approx. If it's shorter, I'd buy right now!

Did you get the 14.7 barrel only or a 14.7 upper assembly? I ordered a complete 14.7 upper on 11/16/08 and haven't heard anything yet. That's why I'm asking.

I got a complete barrel, delta ring, gas block, gas tube the whole deal.

Anything with a b,c,ch is going to take longer. That will hopefully be remedied within the next 2-4 weeks.
