I have ordered the SST M18M Rifle length SPR Barrel (37.40 oz.) for a walking varmiter build.
Who makes the blanks?
I have been trying to find reports as to the level of accuracy/quaity of these barrels.
I wish it was available witha a lighter profile and may turn down the dia. to .650 under the gas tube. Or maybe I should order the JP 18" u.l. @ 25.76oz.
Any opionions would be appriciated.

I have one of their 18SS. The problem I have is my scope. Its a Millet DMS-1. Trying to get to the range with a better scope for testing.

Just wondering.  I'm new to the AR-15 world, and am getting ready to order the same gun for the same purpose, but I was planning on going with the rifle length gas system.  Just wondering why you're going with the mid-length.  Thanks.

I was thinking that the mid length gas system with the shorter barrel would keep things in perspective as to gas pressure/ dwell time for reliability.
Since then, various posts from members have convinced me that this is not necessary and will make the gun shoot harder than needed.
CMMG does offer the 18" with the rifle length system allso. But I went ahead and cancelled my 18" order and in just 4 weeks recieved the JP Enterprises 18" Ultralight, Ultramatch barrel kit., Check it out, I have the 20" medium contour on my precision rifle, and am very happy with it. Have been pleased with CMMG products, but wanted to build a light weight rig.
