I installed a 13" KMR on my current build and I noticed that the rail on the KMR is slightly higher than the rail on my upper receiver. Not sure if normal or I messed up the install. I took it off and put it back on three times with the same result. Just wondering if its the KMR or my upper causing the problem.

Mine is very slightly higher as well. Likely a little bit of tolerance stacking. I have had other rails that were perfectly even, slightly below or above. Pics would help though.

More than likely it's your upper

I have a vltor mur-1a, The SLR rail I had on it didn't match up perfect but wasn't bad, Todd at SLR says, "the height of the uppers out there are all over the place"

My BCM KMR fits perfect on it.

Who made your upper? Post a pic of how bad it is.

Check out what Docs post says.
I'll tell ya from what your pic shows, I wouldn't worry about it.
But I do understand how that bothers people.

Mine is slightly higher on my Complete BCM KMR upper. My Aimpoint PRO mount digs into the rail and has removed some of the material on the rail after 500 rounds.
