is this normal or in your opinion in "acceptable" condition as a blem?

I tried email BCM 4 times since the 4th with my order # and contact info but never got a reply what so ever.

the 3" long mark on is all the way through the anodizing surface down to the bare aluminum.

I took 2 pictures one with flash, another without.

Similar to the two I just got., my two are going to be used so it will be the first of a few marks I suppose... For the price I was expecting some marks and wasn't suprised by mine.

Wait, are you complaining that your "blem" upper is blemished?

Dude. You bought a BLEM part. Are you really complaining about the degree to which that part is "blemmed"?

Lol. I wouldn't have responded either.  Unreal man.

That upper looks dry. Did you try oiling it down and seeing if the marks fade a bit ?

dudes, I'm just asking, I know what "blem" means.  if that's normal, move on.  if not, than I'll give them a call.  simple as that.

I've ordered "blem" items before from various vendors, never got anything with that much of damage to the hard anodizing.

BCM Blems are not PSA or other company manufacturing blems where there are slight defects in finish or coating.  They are demos and test uppers that have been used and broken down, they will have marks and show use.

Per their site:

M4 Flat Top Upper Receiver with cosmetic blemishes. Most have scratches or scuffs.
The upper comes unassembled, but complete with BCM forward assist assembly and ejection port cover door assembly.
You must assemble it. (Assembly required) (all parts, but you will have to assemble together)
THESE ARE USED/DEMO UPPER RECEIVER ASSEMBLIES. Many have had a barrel mounted, and used as display model. All will have several nicks, scratches, and marks on exterior finish. NO HANDPICKING.
This receiver has the M4 feedramps machined in. This is to be used with barrels that include the M4 barrel extension. Milspec Hard Coat Anodizing. Manufactured by USGI Contractor.

Just take it as pre battle scars... To me, I like seeing battle scars on ARs, just shows they are used and doing their job. I mean really I see a safe queen next to a "used" AR, I always like the used AR better.

Looks ok to me. Saves you the trouble of throwing it down the driveway.

I just ordered one, don't really care how it looks.

Unfortunately other companies have blems (specifically PSA and Noveske) that are in great shape except for a slight discoloration in the anodizing.

Assemble it, shoot it, be happy
