I just got a allegedly new BCG from someone here on the EE. It was sealed in the package, but the way BCM sends their BCGs, looks like it can easily be resealed to look like its never been opened. I just got it in, and it looks rather scuffed to be new.
I am aware, on BCM's website, it says there will be SLIGHT handling marks. Im just wondering, how many rounds do they test with NEW bcgs? I can email pictures, I havent gotten anything setup to post them directly here. What is BCM's idea of "slight handling marks"? Im not worried, it is laser etched on the carrier and the bolt, so Im confident it is BCM. I know it is going to suit me just fine, just kinda worried I paid premium new price for something that is used. Kinda like adding insult to injury during these times. Thanks for any info or help. |

Test Fired. I got one new in bag from BCM and without opening it, I could see it had brass marks on the bolt face and hammer drag marks on the bottom. I too have a new in bag BCM, and I can see the brass marks exactly as described by Brahmzy. All my ARs (with the exception of my Noveske) have a BCM BCG which I purchased new (non-panic prices) from Bravo, and each has looked the same. I wish I had purchased more when they were $149. |

From the product page on BCM's website:
"Prior to shipping, all BCM Bolt Carrier Groups are test fired for function. As such, the Bolt Carrier Group will show handling marks consistent with these quality control procedures." (emphasis added) I'd expect anything test fired to have a bit more than a few minor scuff marks, even if it was only fired once. If you're not convinced, please send the offending components to me for proper disposal |
