I will soon send a Palmetto PA-10 upper receiver with a barrel that needs a gas block pinned and a Midwest Industries SS series handguard to install.  Could you check headspace after the install if I also send the BCG??

The head space in any AR type barrel needs to be checked when the barrel extension is installed at the manufacturer. If its off, they only thing you can do is send it back for a replacement.

I fully understand that, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

if you have the barrel and bolt in hand you can check them before they are assembled, this is how most barrel manufactures do it. you would just need the gauges (you will eventually need them again anyways). this may also keep you from paying to have work done + shipping and be that one guy who ends up having out of spec barrel only to have no recourse because you had work do to the barrel.
