I have a quick question on cutting and threading my Larue predatAR 18" barrel to 16"

Do I HAVE to select the $55 shoulder option since it is a lightweight barrel? I'm not sure the actual diameter I would guess it is around .625

No, you do NOT have too. It is just an option for aesthetics.
