If you have a correct M4 spec barrel, you dont need any barrel work. The 15th model collar will drop right on. You'll then just need to select the brake/flash hider you want to use. |

Thank you for the reply..... I wasnt exactly clear..... I would like the barrel cut down to look like the one in the ops link.... not sure of the length....10.5 I think.... is there a downside to this? Are there potential problems that I am unaware of?
Thanks again for your reply. |

Thanks again for your reply. In the OPS link you provided, there are 4 guns. The first one is an 11.5" with the Ops Inc M4-S resting on a Carbine on the bipod wearing an OPS Inc 12th model. The second and third picture shows the Ops Inc M4-S "spacer" on a 16" carbine (the one on the bipod in the first picture) that is originally set up for an Ops Inc 12th model. The bare steel ring is the "spacer" that indexes the Ops Inc M4-S on the 12th model mount. The fifth picture shows the Ops Inc M4-S Mounting setup on a 10.5" barrel. That's as short as you can go in a carbine gas tube. You can see the indexing collar butts up against the gas block. The last picture shows the Ops Inc M4-S mounted on the 7.5" barrel (uses a pistol length gas system, so the gas block is further back, allowing enough room for the indexing collar.) The question will be, WHICH PICTURE are you referring to? Which OPS INC Suppressor are you wanting to mount? Each one has a different requirement for the indexing collar, as each one is a different length over the barrel. I learned very recently, a 12th Model doesn't hold on very well on a gun setup for a 16th model for instance.......

Pilk: You stated the "10.5 i think". If using a standard FSB, you will have to remove the bayo lug (look close at the pic, the front is shaved off). If using a short gas block, a custom collar needs to be fabricated. |
