I have a 20" stainless steel heavy free floated barrell with a screw in FSB. I want to have it cut down to 16" with a midlength gas system.
My question is; what do you do with the rifle gas port since it will not be cut off? As far as cost, I estimate $173.00 plus shipping cut & thread $65 Mill flats for FSB $40 disassemble/reassemble $55 gas tube $13 Does this sound about right? |

Well, it is $173 is good for what you have listed, but that will NOT cover the gas port relocate, so your gun may not work. ;-)
You will probably need a $65 contour for the new FSB area, as well as the gas port relocate ($35). We plug to old port with a threaded set-screw. |

Would it be wise to open up the port or to simply relocate it at carbine length? This won't be a work gun, so that's why im not skipping the chopping part right to the new carbine set-up. Im exploring the options at this time. Stick in question Thanks J |
