Hi there,
I'm in the process of building an AR right now and am looking at a dissipator upper. The problem is I want to build one chambered for 7.62x39. I know other manufacturer's have dissy uppers in 7.62x39, but I'd like to see if you guys make one, as well. I'd prefer to go with a company with a slightly better rep than "Company X". Is this something you guys can/would/do do? TIA, - P |

We do not carry 7.62 x 39 barrels, but if you would like to procure one, we can make it a dissy. Oooh...that's a good idea. I've never ordered a barrel before, as this is my very first build. What sort of things would I need to look out for? Would you just need the barrel and you guys would install the FSB or should I look for a barrel designed as a "dissipator"? Correct me if I'm wrong, but a dissipator barrel is just a 16" barrel with a carbine length gas system, but rifle length sights, correct? |

What we HAVE to have, is enough diameter at the rifle length area to install an FSB. The cost to do a barrel assy that you supply, that has an FSB would run $130 for an FSB install, and $38 for an FSB shave, at minimum. If we need to contour for the fwd FSB, then you would need that as well, $65. So, at least $168, or $233 if contour required. Keep this in mind when buying a barrel, cause it can add up fast. |
