Just picked up a ban compliant Bushy super light 16"
Looking to have it cut and threaded (at 14.7" I believe) so that a perm attached A2 will get it to 16" also considering replacing the ban compliant FSB with one that has the bayo lug

4 questions:

1 - when cutting back a super light barrel like this do you have to build up a shoulder on the barrel to seat the FH on?
2 - how much to cut, thread, and perm attach my A2 FH to get it to 16"
3 - how much to replace the FSB with my no ban FSB?

Thanks

I was about to Ask Steve the same question about cutting the Bushy SL to 14.5" and perm installing a Phantom...

So, Steve, how do we deal with this issue with thses lightweight barrels?

If there is enough barrel we leave a shoulder for the crush washer

2 - how much to cut, thread, and perm attach my A2 FH to get it to 16"

Prices and info are listed here

3 - how much to replace the FSB with my no ban FSB?

$85 - more than its worth

So, the Bushmaster SL barrels have a listed diameter of  0.570" in front of the FSB. The one I have actually measures 0.573". Assuming I get another Barrel and it falls within these dimensions, would there be enough metal to leave a shoulder for the crush washer? If not, how do you deal with this?

Thanks

As far as a Bushy SL goes, Yes we can thread, it and yes there is enough metal for the crush washer to stop, No Problem.
And for the 10/22 TacticalOPSAR mentioned sure no problem, just order precision threading on the order page steve hot linked.
