Was gifted a set of MBUS sights purchased at Bass Pro. Didn't open them for a while and never noticed that the rear sights package had been re-stapled like it was a return. Started looking at it the other day though the packaging and noticed the double stapling and then went WTF as things started looking all wrong. Tell me what you think before I melt or cut these in half as one or the other is going to happen. ETA, not bashing BP as the girl behind the counter taking returns surely had no idea. Insigna upside down I believe and a solid pin in the windage wheel instead of a roll pin http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t274/Tomb007/MBUSFaketopshotwithupsidedowninsignia.jpg Just all wrong, no windage markings http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t274/Tomb007/MBUSFakebottom.jpg Croooked eyepiece and the hole are crooked and offset http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t274/Tomb007/MBUSFakecrookedeyepieceanditsholesareoffset.jpg Canted eyepiece http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t274/Tomb007/MBUSFaketopshot-crookedeyepiece.jpg While it appears to have a Magpul marked screw, the pivot pin isn't recessed as I've noticed on others http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t274/Tomb007/MBUSFakesideshot.jpg Pkge shot of double staples http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t274/Tomb007/Magpulsite.jpg Sorry but it is a fake. Probably someone swapped it as a returned product. Take it back to Bass Pro and they should swap it out. Contact us if there is an issue. |

I've never seen a Magpul product with all of the molding flash on it, that would have been the first red flag And that was the first red flag I noticed when I finally got around to taking a good look at it. The "UP" on the back I couldn't see as it was packaged, but became readily apparent after I extracted it from the plastic sleeve amongst of host of other things. And this was the first time I've every really got a close look at Magpuls MBUS's but this thing screamed counterfeit, fortunately I had a front sight to help compare quality and there was a glaring difference. As much as I'd like to return these to Bass Pro for an exchange, I don't think I can as they would likely just put them out on the shelf for sale again and some unsuspecting sap will get suckered like my wife did when she bought these for me. . |

Put it back together, squirt a little super glue on the cut part them go back with a dumbfounded look on your face. They will swap them out.
Or do the right thing, contact magpul, then goto bass pro and explain the situation. They will have to return your money or give you the proper sights. I'm sure magpul will be OK with you destroying it so it doesn't go back on the market. |

Bass Pro does know too as i brought back the pieces...oh the intially look on the customer service guy's face was almost priceless, kinda a WTF moment then it all set in as a nice conversation ensued. And no I didn't get a refund which I expected, but one thing is for sure, there is one less fake on the selves of Bass Pro and I am out the cost of a nice dinner. |

They probably would have taken them back if they were not cut up but they will be careful on future returns. As a rule we do not replace or service counterfeit items but in this case I will send you a genuine set as a reward for you efforts to infom Bass Pro and educate everyone here. Contact me via emai or messagingl with your shipping address. |

No worries about this seeing the market as it isn't serviceable any longer, and I plan on speaking to them. http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t274/Tomb007/Magpulcutinhalf.jpg Toe shot

Very cool Magpul! Sucks there are shady people who would return that to BP and try to screw the next guy. LMAO on the Spikes lower comment It happens all the time unfortunately. I was looking around the bargain cave at Cabela's and saw a MOE grip box marked down due to missing parts. I opened it up and out popped a standard A2 grip. Some douche put the Magpul grip on their rifle and returned the original one and I'm sure whoever was taking back returns that day had no idea. |
