I was going through my parts bin and thought of a cool modification of my leftover Magpul RVG rail section that I had laying around doing nothing.  I also had the left over parts to mount the RVG to a moe handguard and decided to check if it would mount a flash light and sure enough it would.  This requires a little modification with a hacksaw to cut the screws so it doesn't interfere with the heatshields of the handguards and took less then 15 minutes to do.  In turn I got a free mount for my dissipator.  For those that want to do this, the rail section needs to fit in between two slots as shown below as the slots on the 3 and 6 oclock are two short for the screws.  There is no interference between the new mount and the sling mount.

This is the piece I'm referring to.

This is what the inside looks.  It took some trial and error cutting the screws to size.  The screws need to end up being flush when torqued down so the lower handguard fits without scraping the heat shields

Mounted

The two rails accept normal picatinny style protectors.  Larue Index clips shown

Lighted up.  The light mount is a Vltor.

Entire rifle

For parts laying around I'm happy with it and looks pretty good to me.

Correct terminology for that part is MOE Rail Section, I came in thinking you somehow modified the actual RVG to hold a flashlight, like the Surefire M900A.

fixed the title for you.  I wish I could have that kind of brain to think of a way to modify it like the m900a
