I just got my STR installed, and to my disappointment, I found out that the small little caps inside of the battery tube plugs do NOT fit aimpoint batteries inside of them. If you guys would just open up the internal dimensions of these plugs each tube can then hold 2 cr123a's and 1 aimpoint battery.

Here are the dimensions, clearly these plugs can be changed to fit an aimpoint battery perfectly..

Battery:
Diameter: .454"
length: .413"

Plug:
Length: .497"
Diameter (O): .548"
Diameter (I): .393"

Put your aimpoint in the only acceptable mounting solution (Larue Tactical aimpoint mounts) and they have a watertight compartment in the mount to store a spare battery. With that spare and the one in the sight, that should be a lifetime supply.

In my MOE grip I have the spare bolt plug and was able to fit in an extra battery with the bolt.

The point is, is that the tubes are designed for STORAGE, the plugs are just wasted space as it when being used with CR123a batteries, especially when they could easily house an aimpoint battery.

Might make the eotech fans feel left out though
