I never understood the need for some over priced high speed sling. When I served the good old USGI black sling did the job just fine. I know guys that served in Nam and they used to break the swivels right off the rifle, no sling at all. I can see the convince of the one point and the retention aspects but it's just another way to spend more than you need to. I just recently took an extra USGI sling, H&K hook and a QD snap I had laying around and made a custom fit one point set up in about a half hour. I can carry the weapon single point than pinch the QD clip if need be disconnecting the weapon from the main portion of the sling in a second. It's a little crude but sturdy and gets the job done. Magpul makes top notch products God knows I own enough of em so this is in no way a knock on them just an observation.

I've never served or done any police work. I do some two gun and informal Ar15 shoots. Sometimes we may run a hundred yards or drag a full weight dummy while carrying our rifle . In the next stage you may have to shoot weak hand  transition shoot transition. I had a two point Vickers sling and it worked well but didn't go single point. I bought a adapter that would make it a single point and back to a two point .  I've had my chest pushing so hard on the sling I swear its going to break.
The hardware is the weak point in the current products. Hopefully the new sling takes care of that.

From my brief exposure it is a vast improvement on the MS2. The webbing is wider and the alligator style clips allow for a rapid transition from singlepoint to double point. I look forward to owning one.

I think I would have liked to see him actually use it on a gun.

Same here, i currently have an MS2 on my AR and I find is a very good system, but it lacks that single point/ double point capability, which is increasdes its versatility; will look for it when if comes out. Thanks OP.

Looks good.  They addressed basically all of the "issues", and refined some things that frankly were good to go.

I'm in for one!

I still like the quick detach lanyard on the MS2. But I havent handled the MS3 yet, so the new clips might be a better design.

I was told at range day by Magpul people that black are in production now... available in the next few months... Dark Earth color to follow a few months later... other colors have not been green lighted (yet?)

ETA:  They are very nice... Much better than the MS2 in all respects.

How well is this thing going to function with the RSA/MSA? Right now I'm running an MS2 with the MSA on the LHS as far back as possible on the MOE handguard. The claw can't swivel around the MSA in a 180 degree fashion very easily. Will this issue be tackled with the MS3? I can post a video/pictures if I'm not making this very clear.

Say what?  The MS2 definitely has this capability.
