Butler Creek flip up covers quality has gone way down hill and no one else seems to make a quality flip type scope cover.
Magpul polymer genius with magnetic latches to hold them open (like the screw in Leupold ones) |

Magpul polymer genius with magnetic latches to hold them open (like the screw in Leupold ones) Amen and AMEN!!! The Butler Creek covers truly have gone to crap in the last year or so in every respect. With Butler Creek taking a crap, there are NO decent sources for a quality scope covers without going to bikini type covers or scopecoat type covers unless you own a Leupold and want to pay through the nose for their covers. A quality alternative to the BC cover from a company like Magpul could be a HUGE seller both on the civilian market side as well as Mil/LEO!! |

I can see them with the sleeve that goes over the scope bell made of a tough semi soft plastic like the I-Phone covers, with a reinforcing ring of "P-Mag type" plastic at the "porthole" end.
The lid would be a thick circle of "P-Mag type" plastic with a polycarbonate window, a real "O" ring seal, a small rare earth magnet at 12 O'Clock on the porthole that would mate with one at 6 O'Clock on the lid that has the ability to open so the lids lay flat on the scope bell. Available in Black, FDE, and OD. in at least all of the sizes that BC covers are available in. $40.00 to $60.00 depending on if you order with or without low profile polymer BUS on the reinforcing ring. They would sell a metric crapload of them!! Then again, they sell that much of anything they make, don't they? Pu-leeezz baby baby puleeezz!!!!! |
