I keep my HD mag in my AR, obviously, however sometimes when I remove the mag the tip of the second round will move up, and be close to the same level as the first round. When I try to reinsert the magazine back into the rifle, it will not seat, so I then have to push the rounds back down, getting that 2nd round back into place, before reinserting.

Is this a mag issue? or something else?

Pictures speak a thousand words.

How it Should look.

How it looks.

Posted this in the AR15 thread, and was suggested to post here. Should I contact Magpuls Customer Service, or Technical Support?

Interesting.  Never really see this problem with the 30s (albeit still rare, occasionally this can happen in the 20s with their tilting follower).  Is the back spine cracked perchance?  Regardless, please contact us for replacement.

Back Spine is solid, no cracks anywhere. I didn't have this problem with any of my other PMags, all from the same time period. I emailed Customer Service about the issue.

Thank you

So this is a defect?  I have the same issue. Mag is marked 12 - 2010.

I have two Rev M Pmags and one regular Pmag that do that when I leave them in the rifle for a while and pull them out. I haven't tried it with my other Pmags. I have never had a functioning problem, though.

I've contacted Magpul a while ago now, and still no reply back. Any ideas if this will get fixed?

We receive in thousands of emails and hundreds of voicemails every week (and this is with all of us in the office even).  It is possible that it either never made it though or somehow got accidentally missed.

At any time, if you don't hear from us in a timely manner we may simply have not received the message.  Please try us again and if an issue is critical the fastest way to get a hold of us is to call during business hours, M-F 9-5 MST.

I've had this happen with both my mags while practicing my reloads.  If it occurs, inserting the mag with a closed bolt becomes VERY difficult if not possible at all.  The only way I have been able to get a mag in that condition inserted is to push the second round back down before inserting.

I just played it off as one of those "life's a bitch" things.  Nothing is perfect.

Mine do the same thing. Hasn't caused a problem.

FWIW I went and tested my revision M 20s and 30s and they both do it when loading one round at a time with my fingers.  Looking into it a bit closer I inserted 4 rounds and even pulled the second round up so it was higher than the first, inserted the mag and hand fed all 4 rounds without a problem and did this a few times with the same results.  I don't see a function problem with it but I will certainly leave it up to magpul to figure out.

Did you double count your rounds to make sure you didn't squeeze 31 in there?

You can tell thats not the case based on what side they're feeding from.

A lot of my PMAGS do something similar, but it has NEVER caused a problem.  I only notice it if I pop the mag in and out of the magwell a few times.

Again, NEVER a problem.  Just assumed it was no big deal, and I have no intention of sending back 80 or so PMAGS
