So....I want some more ODG windowed PMAGS.  The two I have are the "old style," which seem vastly more prevalent at most vendors.  However, there's also a few places that have the Revision-M style ones, and I"m just curious.....since I don't use stripper clips, and intend to use Ranger Plates (negating the "snap the cover on the bottom" trick)......what would be the reasons to go with the "old" vs. "new" style Windowed PMAGS?

Yeah, I know, I'm behind the tacticool curve.

Also....I'm having a heck of a time finding an image online comparing two windowed PMAGS together; I see plenty of "old style vs. new style and new style w/windows" images, but no "window v. window" ones

I own dozens of Pmags, none of which are new enough to have that nifty snap the cover on the bottom feature.

As me how much sleep I lose over it?

M on the left.

I'm mostly sure the only differences are the snap cover clipping to the bottom, the outside texture pattern and the window.
Along with the window being about 7/16" longer, the body of the mag just rear of the window has 5, 15 and 25 round marks to use in conjunction with the orange stripe on the spring.
Hope this helps.

Ahhhhh.......previously, couldn't tell if the window was larger, or if it was just the redoing of the grooves that made it look that way.

All things being equal, what's more useful––-the longer window & counting thingys on the back, or the deeper grasping grooves of the older style?

Or am I just retarded for even asking?

For myself, I find them equal in getting a hold of, with the showoller grooves not affecting manipulation.
The windows, I honestly never look at. But with the newer mags, the numbers would definitely make a round count quicker.
I don't use Magpuls or Ranger plates, so I do like the covers snapping to the bottom.

I'd say buy which ever you can get cheaper. Although by now, the M version is probably all that's out there.

Retarded questions are those not asked.

Not quite.....many vendors still seem to have the "vintage" mags in their stores......even LaRue

Thanks for y'alls help!  It's made my decision much easier.....and if I wind up replacing my "vintage" units with the newer ones ('cause standardization is good, mmmmk?).......y'all've also made my decision much more expensive.

Yeah seems like nobody carries the Rev-M Window mags in OD.  Only places that appear to have them charge full MSRP, and many of the ones that appear to sell the new ones ship you old ones.
