Okay, after months and months,  I finally lucked up and found some OD MBUS sights at Brownells. Now what?

I am mounting these on a 18" 13.2 railed Stealth Upper project.

1.  Is everyone mounting the rear MBUS screw in slot 1? If not, why?

2. Will this leave room for the LaRue scope mount when I can afford one?

3. On the front rail, is the next to the last slot the one to use to keep the sight from hanging over the front?

4. The ?spring pins? for the front sight, where is the spring? or are these roll pins with a friction fit?

Thanks in advance for your tips.

1.  Depends on your upper receiver.  You may need to move it forward a slot or two to make sure you don't block access to your charging handle.  It's a long sight.

2.  It should, depending on model.  I think LaRue has just released a very low scope mount.  I would call LaRue before you place your order.  It fits under all of my LaRue mounts.

3.  Putting the cross screw through the front most slot of the receiver should work fine.  The front sight will overhang just a bit past that.

4.  It's a long roll pin that friction fits into a hole in the sight base and then sticks up to catch the sight detent.  It's not the prettiest thing in the world, but it works.

Notice how it is tight on the rail as you slide it on, and that as you tighten the bolt, it hugs the rail even more... DO NOT OVER TORQUE IT!  It is not hard, you will be able to tell that it isn't going anywhere.

Mine is on slot 2, to make sure I don't rap my knuckles on it when I do clearance drills.
