Yes, that little piece in front of the trigger guard, just aft of the magazine well, is the bolt release (just like on a AR-180). Press your trigger finger up on it to lock the bolt to the rear, press downward on it to release the bolt. And it is ambidexterous.
What I notice about that picture is the distinct lack of MBUS on it. |

I hope its an optical illusion ............ it looks 'taller' a trip in the way-back-machine: http://www.danpassaro.com/img/v4/p272870460.jpg http://www.danpassaro.com/img/v3/p272430520-4.jpg Looking at that... it looks like the the lower half of the ACR forearm/rail is a seperate piece from the upper. you gotta look close, but it's definately a "bolt on" 3-sided rail..... COOL! -ZA |

It is actually a 'slide on' piece.
Okay, more way back time: Magpul Masada on Future Weapons. (gaze upon Costa in the goatee days.)

COOL! -ZA I see it now. The handguard extends downward, inline with that rear pin. The older pic has a slimmer handguard (which I've seen with stuff railed on, thru those slots). |
