My AR has a rail height gas block with a picatinny rail.  Will the MBUS work?  Or are they not low-profile enough?

 thanks for your help

Sadly, the people at magpul have announced that a front MBUS is not recomended for use with a gas block, no matter the height.  I was incredibly dissapointed, because I bought my AR with a rail height gas block with the intention from the beginning of putting an MBUS up there.  The problem is one of heat; granted, most of us will not put enough rounds through our rifle to heat the gas block up that much, but Magpul has always been a company concentrating on real world use, so they just recomend you use a metal front sight on your gas block.

I have a Samson FFS on my rail height gas block now.

As he said, it would be the right height, but the heat will cause the sights to fail.
