Well, I just got done installing my new UBR and I have two questions for the experts.

1. How do I use the preset function?  There is nothing about it in the paperwork.
2. There is an extra "top part" I guess you could call it for the stock.  Does it give a lower or higher cheek weld?

So far the stock appears to be awesome and worth every penny.  We'll find out this weekend since it'll be getting used in a match.

1. Dunno

2. Are you talking about the riser thing that "clips" on? I don't believe you can use that on an AR-15 as the charging handle won't clear it. I believe that was meant for mounting on other platforms, shotguns or Sig rifles, etc.

Well I just got mine installed today also, and have been playing with it all day. Mine came with several set screws in a bag that you install in the marked holes for where you want the stock to stop. Mine had one already installed in the 5 spot. When you pull it back to a preset screw and you want it to go back further, just push in the preset button. What extra cheek piece did yours come with? Mine had nothing like that. It is by far the nicest stock I have ever seen.

I think he was talking about the shoulder thing that goes up.

preset is just a allen head screw on the reciever tube part of the UBR stock.  There is one near the front, you take that one out and move it to the perfered hole of your choice, each is numbered.  Once screwed in to one of these when you open the stock it will stop there.  You have to push in the release more to "override" the preset and move it further outward.

The upper peice is the check rest, one it narrow, one is a little wider.  Use the one of your choice.

Good call on the cheek rest. I installed the narrower one, feels much better.  I'll have to take allen wrenches to the range Saturday and figure out where I want my preset screws.  Thanks fellas, quick accurate assistance as always.
