Many times and in many pictures, I have seen Flat dark Earth look like a very neutral, very subtle and approporiate color for many if not all environments.
And other times, I have seen FDE look like Desert tan or or even gold. WHat is up with this? I suspect lighting conditions in many of the photos. But sometimes, I'll see Magpul products in FDE in the same photo, and they look completely different. I'd be a lot more quick to order straight from Magpul if I knew I wasn't going to get an obnoxious King Tut's tomb colored accessory for my rifle... Any opinions? |

Some of the photo's you see, could be pre production samples, which tend to be a bit off in color at times. All my FDE magpul stuff matches. |

I have bought Magpul FDE mags and furniture from different sources and they all are consistent.
They are all definitely flat DARK earth colored. When I take a photograph the light washes out the color and everything appears light tan. But I didn't buy the weapon to be photogenic. |

Lighting conditions, camera white balance, degrees kelvin, monitor and video cards are all going to play a part. Magpul FDE is a matte finish, and does not show a goldish color in real life. |

Lighting, camera settings, and monitor settings cause the variance. All the Magpul parts I have seen match perfectly. |
