Guys, I have just recently received some new GEN III Magpul followers, with the teflon additive, and I must say that the teflon additive is simply awesome. It's MUCH smoother in standard USGI aluminum mags, and they worked perfectly in my D&H USGI Mags. MUCH better than the crap green followers that came in the mags. However, I was surprised to see they do not work in PMAGS, and I thought all Magpul followers worked in PMAGS. Will Magpul be making PMAG followers with the teflon additive? Finally, Do GEN I and GEN II Magpul followers only work in USGI type mags, OR did they work in PMAGS? I am confused about this. Are all Magpul followers that are sold by themselves, ONLY sold to be upgrades for USGI mags? Thanks. |
Correct. I thought 6.8 Gen III followers were out now, or would be out very shortly. I don't shoot any 6.8, so I'm not as up on it as I should be. |
+1 I have a couple C-Prod aluminum mags which came with the grey GenII followers. I was impressed with them. I still am. So I bought ten of the GenIII's to install in some of my other aluminum mags. The GenIII's impressed me so much, I put them in all of my remaining aluminum mags. A stack of 30 aluminum mags, each with a magpul follower, is a beautiful sight to behold.
I reckon the latest batch of PMAG's have that. The last two times I bought PMAGs, the followers were noticeably slicker and smoother than the first ones I acquired in late 2007/early 2008. However I haven't noticed any real functional difference between them; they seem to be no more - or no less - smoother or reliable than the first PMAGs I bought. I do like the textured surface of the newer ones though and I love the OD green. Any further PMAGs I buy will be OD green. |
