Why is there even a Magpul forum on this website, when the only answer that is received from the said company is that they will not tell you anything? The only thing that is posted are pictures by Stickman, and other than that, this forum is simply a collection of unanswered inquiries. It gets kinda redundant. |
|
They no longer give any information because when they tried to keep everyone appraised of product progress and proposed release dates, people on this site would hold them to it or incessantly nag the hell out of them. People would bitch and cry, literally angry as hell. Its because of a bunch of whiney bitch-ass arfcommers that they no longer release info. I don't blame them. |

Do a search of DrDrake or Magpul and see how many threads we post in and provide valuable info. There has been a bombardment of, build this, build that, when is it going to be released, why are you late........these are the questions that get the standard response. Drake |
This forum is a series of questions that are asked and answered on a regular basis. If you are looking for help on an existing Magpul product, you are going to get it here. If possible, I'll post pictures or give answers in an effort to help people. The only thing redundant is people asking about new products, and those are the questions that get the same canned reply. If there are other questions that go unanswered, I haven't seen them. Did you ask one that was missed? |

+1 on those responses. "Gun nerds" have to be the biggest bunch of whiners (with the bulk of AF aircrew a very close second) in this world. If you want to search for something, do a search on how many times "I need" is posted! In my humble opinion, if Magpul kept pushing out great kit but kept to themselves, then someone would have posed the question as to why they don't have their own forum. |

Actually, it's guys like YOU who are redundant. The reason why Magpul has stepped back from being as open as they once were is because of sniveling whiners who would ask a question, and then bitch and moan if they did not get the answer they wanted or the said item into production by the time they thought they would. Reminds me of my daughter when she was 14 years old. Grown-ups understand that design and production usually involve hitches in design, revisions, materials, production, assembly, packaging, shipping, etc. Sniveling whiners complain when they can't have their UBR on the original date 'promised' two years ago and because they can't get it in the color (probably purple) they want or with the mods they recommend (like integral iPod mounts). So, instead of being free and open with info, ideas, projections, etc., Magpul has been forced to back off on this kind of intel to insulate themselves from those who are, let's say, a little less grown up than the rest of us. It's nice to see that Magpul is on the road demonstrating their products and making them available to minor league infidels and professionals alike. My guess is that they get a better response face-to-face than they do from the guys who sit at their computers in their mother's basement with their airsoft AR15s laying across their lap. To those whining brats, I'd personally like to say "thanks" (or rather "no thanks") for pretty much pissing on a campfire that used to include some pretty good dialogue that exchanged ideas, dates, etc. Finally, thanks to Magpul working with guys like Stick and MFingAR, we get some advanced views of Mapgul products. Enough to whet most of our appetites, and even enough for some to send salient, subtle and constructive feedback and design recommendations. It's a pretty sad day when a group of top-notch innovators such as Rich, Mike, Brian, Drake and company have to back off on conversations because of those who bitch and moan and snivel and whine. For guys like you I say, "Hide in the bushes and watch." It's where you belong.
Ahh. For someone who has to be polite in front of investors, stockholders, employees and corporate management, that FELT GOOD. |
That is hilarious. |
Man, you sure told me. I think I just got served. Give me a break. I have never asked a question about a new product on this forum, so I fail to meet your "standard" of a "whiner" or even "redundant". I actually DO understand that Magpul has become tired of being constantly probed and questioned as to the development and availability of their products. When I called Magpul up over a year ago (May of '07) and asked them about the release date for the UBR, I was quoted "about 4 weeks". When it wasn't released at that time, I didn't come to this forum and begin bitching and "whining" that they did not meet the deadline that had informed me about. there are problems with manufacturing, second party items, etc., which all add to the delay My problem is that when people ask questions such as "will a 9mm pmag be produced", they are automatically met with the standard reply of "As for now we are not releasing, blah, blah, blah...." In a situation such as that, I do not see the harm in atleast answering the question as to whether or not Magpul is atleast entertaining the idea of such a product. Releasing information such as this with the clear stipulation that the only discussion about future products will be limited to whether or not they are a "possibility" does not appear to be a "bad" thing. It seems that the only questions that are answered are ones pertaining to items that are currently available. And about the "hide in the bushes and watch" comment.... if you only knew. Go back to your boardroom, Mr. Chair-mando. |
Its kinda funny that you mention that, because the only time that I visit this forum is when I am wondering if any more questions about possible new products are not being answered. And its spelled "extraneous", by the way. |
Nope. I didn't ask any questions. As I stated above, it would be nice to know whether or not Magpul is currently planning on any of the presented ideas. They do not have to go into detail, but a simple "yes, we are thinking about such a product", or "no, we are not and do not plan on creating a product such as the one you have described" should suffice. Magpul does not need to give any information beyond that, and it should be known to posters that this is their policy. |
I know it would be nice to know if we are working on projects. The question "when?" comes into play with "yes" answer. If a "no" answer then folks want to know "why?". The standard answer we have been giving answers to both yes and no's. OPSEC is very important to us these days. Too many people trying to rip us off. Got to keep it on the down low. |
Don't want to sound like a suck up Keep it up. Semper Fi Bro |
