I tried installing my MIAD grip last night. It came with a shorter flathead screw chrome in color with a dab of red loctite on the end. Wehh I tried to instal the screw into my Spikes lower and it wouldnt make any progress into the receiver. So I removed the grip and just tried starting the screw into the lower without the grip in place and it still wouldnt accept. I than tried the grip screw that came with my RRA LPK it a black in color screw with a hex head attachment and it worked but the only problem is my hex wrence is an L- shaped one and wont fit into the bottom of the grip. I was basically just courious why the grip screw provided by Magpul was not working. Ive never read any posts before about these kinds of problems. Any help would be appreciated.

you need to buy an extended T handled allen kit or a screw driver with interchangeable heads with Allen's  and use the old screw with maybe a washer to "pad it out" to be the same diameter as the provided screw.

I have MIAD's on six rifles, and I too had trouble starting the flat-head screw due to the red locktite. I dabbed a q-tip into some hoppe's and dabbed it onto the locktited area...a few minutes later it had soften up enough for me to install the screw.

I had the same issue with 2 lowers, the first damn near never went in, the second I scraped off most of the locktite, and it went in much easier.

Fixed ditched the magpul screw and went with the hex screw provided with LPK. Had to by a hex bit for the ratchet set. Thank god for harbor freight
