| I checked through the topics and excuse if this has been asked before, but has anyone heard if Magpul is planing on releasing Masada receivers or just complete rifles? While I would love to get a complete rifle in each color the funds won't allow and this would be a way to get several rifles before 2009. After watching how modular the rifles are going to be on Future Weapons it seems it would be easy to put one together at a later date. |
| Why do you want lowers before 2009? If your thinking in regards to having receivers bought before some new ban were to be passed, that doesnt make much sense because unless you have a crystal ball, there is no way to know how such a thing would even be written and worded. Additionally, the upper is the serial numbered part, so if you did get multiple lowers, which I seriously doubt Magpul will do, you still wont have anything. |
| I didn't say anything about lowers. I guess I should of specified upper receivers. In the last ban it seems as if the receiver was built into a firearm before the ban took place it was considered pre-ban. I was thinking about getting enough parts to construct each receiver into complete rifle albeit one at a time I would be golden. I guess I should stop worrying about a ban. |
Hawk, I thought we would need -spare- lower, barrel, and bolt for caliber swaps. Not true? |

My apologies, as I did misread your post in regards to the receivers. That said, I dont believe that Magpul will be selling either seperately right off the bat. You cant base ANYTHING off the last ban. It means nothing, because we have no way of knowing how any new one will be worded. Keep in mind also, that it will be spring of 2009 at the earliest before anything could be passed. Just keep saving your money and be ready to buy.....

Yes, that is correct, and I think Magpul will sell those seperately at some point. I dont think they will do that right out of the gate though, instead putting everything they can into complete weapons. Now, that is a guess on my part, I could be wrong. |

DO NOT EVER STOP WORRYING ABOUT A BAN! That said, if Magpul thought that throwing out Masada recievers in the face of an unstoppable ban, they would. It makes commercial sense to sell as much stuff as possible and, another thing that makes Magpul different from most other gun companies is that they hate gun control like you and I hate gun control. They've said some nice thigns about putting these things in the hands of Americans and I tend to believe them. Put down the f*cking tv remote ad start researching the political situation and get active. Talke to people and get support. |
Double AMEN brothers! Can't say it any better. Buy Spare parts early because If there's another ban... Besides, I'm not going to wait until after the next election to buy my rifle/rifle parts. That seems risky. Remember the Russian proverb "better is the enemy of good enough". You wait long enough for whatever you think is perfect, you may wind up with nothing at all. |

The Masada will be out in mid '08. There's no definites but that is the unofficial word. Why on earth would you think it won't get to us? It was designed for civvies by American shooters that believe wholeheartedly in the 2nd amendment. I don't know any more than anyone else but WAIT, BE PATIENT and tune in for SHOT. Oh, and, save your $$$. Gotta get a new CCW myself and then a Magpul rifle. |
I think it will get to us but in another form. my mistake I don't know why I wrote "not in any form" I'll fix that sorry. Don't know how that got there. Strange day. What I meant to say was but in a different form as there will probably be some cosmetic changes though if there were another ban. pistol grips, mags, stocks, flash hiders, barrel, caliber. |
