Well it's about to happen. After 3 yrs in the Navy, 2 yrs in the Guard as an 11B and 2 yrs off. I'm about to sign for another 6yrs in the guard as an 11B. Old unit was weapons, new one is a line unit. It's been a long time coming, but it is here and I hope the MEPS trip goes without incident. God I hate that place.

I never want to go back to MEPs. Nothing like getting fast tracked for your medical exam, and then sitting 8 hours for your security clearance.

Yeah, my AF ETS physical disappeared so I have to go back to MEPS next week myself.  I can hardly contain my excitement.

MEPS sucks bad.  I never wanted to see that place again.

What sucked even worse was being a recruiter that used the same MEPS you joined from.  I averaged at least 1 full day each week for 3 years straight in the friggen place.

Man I should havea chiar next to the TV. rofl.

I just can't stand the place, it has this feeling about it that drives me nuts... kind of like despair. I can't tell you how many dreams I've seen shattered at a MEP's physical, the place is not fun.

Today when I went through MEP's, they fast tracked twelve of us through medical, and in the group there were two other guys who were going for 11x/Opt 40. Best friends who were going to join together. And guess what? One of the guys failed the color blindness test. His dreams=crushed.
Poor bastard.

At the medical screening there was a kid behind me that was wearing his high school  Army ROTC uni when he showed up that was  CLOSE to min height and was underweight by 4 pounds or so. The kid was bawling as he put his clothes back on. They comforted him by telling him to come back when he gained the weight I hope he made it at some point since he seemed to want it so badly. I remember being happy when I went back to MEPS to ship since "shippers" got to eat first. SS

I almost went back in the Army when I was 30 or 31.  I went back through the Mepps physical and all.  That would have been in the mid 90s.

Wow.   In the group physical when we were all in our shorts I couldn't believe how fat and out of shape the 18 year olds were who were coming in.... almost every one a butter ball with sugar tits.  Grew up with computers I guess.

Anyhow after one evening and one day at Mepps, I remembered why I only did two hitches.  Before the day was over I decided to can the idea of going back in.
