Yup, thats what happened on me when my buddy was doing it. So then, whats he do as blood is pouring out? Pushes down on the catheter into my arm and of course, it flings blood ALL over me and him so I start pretend screaming and freaking out.....  He turns white as a ghost and is apologizing profusely so me and the Medical chick help him out in reducing the blood flow and to get it situated. I think he apologized about 125 times in 5 mins.

lmao! i always make sure to partner with a first timer when i do my recerts. theyre so nervous they never notice me release the tourniquet as theyre pulling the needle out of the cath. maximum spillage! |
