Get promoted even if you're a stupid, worthless dirtbag, in the Mississippi Army National Guard!

Just a short little rant here, a miniscule venting of the spleen, over the trials and tribulations of working with selfish, stupid, venal, ignorant, illiterate turds who wear US Army uniforms.

Just a small sample:

I work with a woman, I'll call her SGT "Worthless Ducks", who is the classic REMF. She is in the process of trying to dodge an upcoming deployment to Afghanistan, and i asking all sorts of really sorry questions about how to get out of doing what she signed up to do. I was walking by her desk on the way to the copy room, when she asked me this one:

Dirtbag: "SGT Doubleclaw? Is there any way I can give this SGT rank back, or maybe get demoted so I can go back to my old unit?"

Me: "Um.......Sure, there's plenty of ways you can get demoted, but none that you want following you around in your record. What would you want to do that for, anyway?"

Dirtbag: "Well, my unit just got alerted for deployment, and I don't want to go over there. I'm not Combat Arms, and I shouldn't have to go over there. I want to go back to my old unit so I don't have to go, because they ain't going anywhere."

Me: "Uh...ok. So, you didn't consider this when you took an STPA promotion to an Engineer unit? There's a lot of work over there for them, and they get deployed a lot. I don't know what to tell you to do, but you should consider whatever you do carefully. Besides, deployment isn't THAT bad. Why not just gear up and do your time?"

Dirtbag: "Oh, no, I can't go over there, I just don't think I can do that. They don't need me over there."

Me: "Well, do what you gotta do..." At which point I walk off.

WTF is wrong with people?

The kicker is that now she's been sucking the boss's dick every day, sweeping his office, staying behind after hours to chat with him, schmoozing up to him all the time, and now he's trying to get her through the state OCS program. Great. Not only is she a worthless turd, but she's going to be an OFFICER as well.

Why would we promote a stupid cow like this? What purpose could this serve?

The very idea of someone like this becoming an officer makes me vomit.

Not that there aren't some worthless people in CA, but the level of retardation that goes on in Non-CA MOSs boggles that mind. I never was exposed to it until WLC when you get mixed in with all sorts of MOSs. I don't mean to step on anyones toes here, I am sure there are plenty of females who do a great job of serving their country. All I'm saying is you won't ever find me in a unit with females for exactly the reasons you posted above.

Guard or not, i dont understand how people can join the MILITARY and think they wont get deployed. "Oh no i cant go overthere" Are you kidding me? Did you think after 9-11 you wouldnt be going over?

Give me a break.

That sucks. I saw it, even in my combat arms unit. Had a kid look me in the face and say, "I didn't join to go to war, I joined for college money."

In terms of the military throwing rank at undeserving shitbags, creating shitbag NCO's, nothing can be worse than the Army Reserve. They have nationwide slots to fill (as opposed to state, which usually they can keep shitbags within a single battalion and thus keep them from STAPing up where they don't belong), and the "promotion process" is merely a packet, all of which are approved. At least in the VA Guard, there was a leader's appraisal. This is where the leader has to do his job and point out leadership qualities (or lack thereof) in the people who are looking at promotion.

Sucks dude, stay far away from her. I would probably tell her she's a worthless piece of shit and walk away.

I seriously hope I don't run into anyone like that.

Why someone would do all that training and NOT want to get in the fight is beyond me.

Been there...

I've busted my * for nearly 15 years to get promoted and nothing; not even an ARCOM or AAM to speak for my hard work and dedication. I seriously got tired of the politics my BOTH my units and got out of it; seriously, if you're not of the "pets" in the unit, they will cast you aside and the pets will get all the cushy assignments, promotions and awards.

I mean, if you work you * off to prove that you are a good soldier, then you should be rewarded, but then if you are the type that likes to to be a "yes man" (I want to say "polesmoker" but CoC prevents me to really say what I mean) and they are the ones getting the cushy stuff whiel you are cast aside like a black sheep...

Couldn't take it no more.

Yeah, i thought that until my state AG decided to reclass my entire company from 21B to 21E.  We had EO briefs for months prior to our first new female.

After the state reorg, isn't one of the 276 units a Sapper unit? After 276 got moved from 91st TC...

Sucks about the split tails. I'm not saying females can't do the job, but the cameraderie in an all-male unit is something hard to describe if you haven't lived it.

+1

Yeah, the 276th still exists, but only as a paper grouping of individual companies.

180th HCC
237 En. Co. (Sapper)
1033 EN. Spt. Co.
189th Bridge Co.
The Quarry Platoon

and i think maybe one or two other companies

I think it's only fair considering what has been said that I tell the other side of that story. I have to females in my EOD company one team leader one supply SPC. Both score above 250 in the 17-21 male age group on the APFT. My team leader is on her second deployment despite the fact she lost a brother in Iraq last year. She can probably do better demo blindfolded than most Engineers can on a good day with no stress. She can strap on an 80lb bomb suit do her duty just as good as any of the male Soldiers in the unit and better than some.

Our Supply female on the ball when it comes to her, She just signed her volunteer statement for EOD training after we return from our deployment. Both can keep pace with any male in the unit we have made no special adjustments for having them at the shop. Every one I work with will tell you that they earned the right to be where they are at.

On the other hand I have to male troops one mechanic and tech that I'm fighting hand over fist to insure they don't get to fight with us because the do not meet the standard and have some of the worst motivation levels I have ever seen in a soldier.

I've seen both sides. It all depends on the atmosphere dcreated by the Command. If the COC is afraid to death of an EO case, then they'll baby the females and they will become lazy shitbags. If the COC forces the females to meet the standard and doesn't treat them like princesses, then they will usually rise to the occasion.

YMMV, but from what I've seen, it all comes down to the COC.
