I'm new to AR15.com, been reading the forum for years but never registered.  I guess this is as good a place as any to introduce myself.

Former Army Infantry, did a year in Iraq 03-04 in a Recon team with a Scout / Sniper platoon.  According to my buddies these don't exist anymore and they got rid of LRRS and Scouts and use smaller hunter/killer teams now.  Guess I'm old!

I have a couple of AR pattern rifles and have flirted with AKs for about a decade.   I'm going to build an AR from an 80% lower so I'm looking forward to learning a lot from this forum.

Welcome.  Scout/Sniper platoons still exist @ the HHC level in Light Infantry Battalions.

Nice!  I'm sure things have changed A LOT in a decade of fighting but I like that the concept is still there.

The Feinstein Project... that is a hillarious name.

Looks like you're going to have a hell of a time figuring out how to make the rear of the lower strong enough to avoid cracking.  More epoxy and bricks!
