I went to the course at Ft Jackson but live near McCoy. I thought the course was ok, too many small group break outs the second week and I felt the instructors didn't follow through with alot of things and just assumed we understood it. Overall it's a good course, I went 2 years ago so things may have changed.
There's not much to do at McCoy, are you driving? There's a small PX right next to the club called McCoys which is a joke to go to IMHO, the local town Tomah isn't much either except few bars downtown and a Walmart, etc |

Can't smoke in bars or inside rather, it's starting to get cold out so not sure if you'll want to hang outside to smoke for more than 5 mins. McCoys does have a heated smoking area with bar but only Fri and Sat
Smoking areas by the WMA building (most likely where you'll stay) are just a bench with an ashtray. Let me know when you're out here and I'll see if I'm in the area, if so I'll take you out to some good areas outside McCoy where you can have a smoke  and do some shooting
