I'm an attorney seriously considering trying for a direct commission as a jag with the PA National Guard.

I've talked with the local recruiter and the state special branch recruiter and so far I like what I hear.

They tell me my next step is a "Ch 2 MEPS physical.  I had to get the doctor's reports for my ACL surgery.
My local guy said my Doc's reports were the best he's ever seen and we should be able to schedule the physical for next week or the week after.

What can expect for this physical?

Also, I'm 27 yeas old, 5'10" and 193 lbs.  Is my weight a problem?  I'm in fairly good shape.  I can do 60 sittups, 65 push-ups and run 2-mile in 14:00.
One of the local guys said I'd pass tape and that you would be amazed at some of the guys that pass tape.  I'm going to try to lose a few pounds by the physical.  Would 189 be good?

Also consider the Navy Reserve Direct Commission JAG program.

I've had several family members serve in the Navy so I did consider the Navy reserve JAG but according to their website:

Unfortunately, at this time, the U.S. Navy Reserve does not offer direct appointments for Judge Advocate General (JAG) Officers directly into the Reserve.

I believe only National Guard and Army reserve directly commission JAGs for non-active duty, at least right now.
