I took the test the other night... That has to be the most fucked up test I have ever taken.
Talk about wording from hell... All of us walked out and were like It was a crap shoot on a few to figure out what they were asking.
I have no idea how I did and won't find out until after the new year. Anyone elses experience the same? |
| Yeah, when I took the Fire Instructor I test it was as you said. No one in the class had a clue how they did. If it makes you feel any better, all of us passed except for one dumbass who didn't deserve to pass anyway. It is a screwed up test but you probably did fine. |

Just got my FI II as well - thankfully all our written requirements were well satisfied by the lesson plans we had to fab up, but our written test was FUBAR as well. IIRC they mentioned something about changing the curriculum - not sure if that was just IL or if that's a national push. |

IL system is screwed up (go figure).
You want to take a test 1: Fill out a form and snail mail it a minimum of 30 days prior to a test and also include two alternate locations if full 2: Wait for date confirmation and location of test 3: Take test, turn in and wait about 30 days for your test results. This is the normal system, unless you have prior approval from the state to have the test incorporated into your class, extra $$ Our tests were written by U of I students and about every 3-5 years they get rewritten. |

When I took my instructor series in Texas the worst part was navigating the text book. Instead of chapter 1 through whatever it would be sections then further broken down by letter or roman numeral. The book is revised every year by a new set of pencil pushers and it only become more confusing. |

Quoted: IL system is screwed up (go figure). I took all my recent courses up at NIPSTA (on the old GNAS), and the "course approval" was well worth not having to go through the f*cked up OSFM test scheduling. One advantage of having a week-long class - just take it on friday and know right away. |

Quoted: Retook the test Thursday night... Enjoyed the 2nd go around of that cluster fuck. I quote the Instructor 'Yes we know it's a messed up test, but it's what we have to work with" With a 50% fail rate you think it'd excite some change. Hey - job security, baby. ![]() |
