If it is like the ones that I have taken it will take about 8 hours. It consists of several standardized tests( several thousands of questions each) You will see the same questions over and over just asked slightly different. They will likley do some IQ testing and cognitive reasoning tests too. There will likely be an interview with the psycologist too to discuss your answers and other things. In a nut shell psych tests suck but are not hard to pass. Just be consistent in your answers and do not read into the questions at all, like my buddy who is a big hunter/outdoors men who answered all the " do you like to kill animals" questions with "yes." He read into the questions as I enjoy hunting therefore I must enjoy killing animals, LOL. His interview was about 3 hours long after that, LOLOLOL, he got hired though. In the group of 7 that I took the tests with 6 of us got hired (dept was hiring 6) and I dont know if #7 failed or was just the 7th guy on the list. We have maybe had about 5 guys out of about 25 that have tested in the last couple of years not pass. Hope this helps, J- |

I still cant believe people fail the psych test. It's just the same core questions repeated over and over again in different ways, for a total of like 900 questions. ![]() Yeah when i took mine a lot of people failed out of it including an ex US Marshall. Just stick to your answers and your fine. but by the 900th question i was going insane. |
| In the olden days, IIRC, I had to take an MMPI, Rorschach Test, draw a picture of yourself, finish the sentence test, and then I was interviewed by the psychiatrist. It is time consuming. Just be honest and you won't get tripped up. And don't talk to the voices in your head. Good Luck! |

I had the 800 question scantron as well as a verbal interview with a shrink. Know your audience, that's all I can say. When I had my psych test back in 2001, it was the same day race riots were ongoing 40 miles away in Cincinnati. My shrink was a black woman. A lot of the art and books in her office had a distinct liberal flair. If I were to repeat the soft on crime, liberal nonsense I repeated that day (crime being caused by economic hardships, problems of suburbanite white cops not wanting to understand the plight of young poor black men, etc), I would probably get a blanket party by my co-workers. The shrink ate it up though. |

Would you rather be a farmer or a florist? Florist. Have you ever had sexual relations with an animal? Of course. Do you ever hear voices? Who doesn't? |

are you afraid of dirt, do you love your father more than your mother, would you like to be a librarian???
and my favorite question with the shrink... What would you do if you were lost in the woods, no background that was it... weird oh and then there was what do you argue about with your girlfriend? if they asked me now what I fight about with my wife i could talk for a hour but I passed... |

Had a psych test a couple weeks ago.
Took the 100 questionaire (they 'grade it' before you speak to the psychologist), and then took the other couple exams as well. The interview was weird. He asked me really basic questions (school, family, arrests/DUI, employment) etc. I know some people get grilled based on the questionaire/what was answered during the interview... but I never experienced that. Either I am a psychopath that they don't want to piss off... or if any flags came up, they were minor. |
